2- Steps To Build Self-Awareness Today

I bet you have heard a million and two times that you need to build self-awareness. Or even better, you think like everyone else out there that you are already self-aware. Haha, my friend, I wish that were true. Most have the assumption, but knowing and consciously acting aren't the same. Let me paint a quick picture real quick. Ask the next person you see how you get in shape? And they will give the typical answer of your workout; you eat right, get enough sleep, keep your stress levels low, etc. Right, so if it is so easy and most people in the United States know what to do, why aren't we doing it?

This is why I want you to get past what you aren't doing. Because now you will have the easy, simple steps you need to reshape your life quickly.

Step 1- Change your Normal Routine

I know this sounds so simple and couldn't be more cliché, but I would be grateful if you could think about this. Do you have to think about brushing your teeth? Do you have to think about getting dressed or any of the minor details of the daily tasks? The answer to that is no, of course not. So why does it feel like you are in a dream and then wake up to suddenly find that you are at your house? That is because our brains, to save energy and thought power, put up an autopilot mode. So instead of your brain having to give it, it's all every single day, you have this fancy trick to make you more productive. So if you are consistently in the same environment doing the same things, how will you truly grow? How will you become conscious of having to grow? The answer is you won't, and this is how large groups of people do horrible things. So a quick way to become aware is to change your routine, change your environment and listen to yourself. You will quickly discover your character, values, characteristics, your motives, and desires.

Step 2-Be ok facing yourself, but don't stay down for long.

Self-awareness is a very cleansing experience. Know that when you start digging deep, you will discover something about yourself that you honestly aren't going to like. You are going to find out that you aren't that person who you thought you were. You will find out that you did some very selfish things, and that is perfectly alright. In agriculture terms, there is a method called Slash and Burn. The technique is to use a controlled fire that is clearing forest and other areas to be replanted and harvested even better. Nature and humanity go hand and hand. You need to do the same thing and start controlling those fires so you can plant new seeds. As a personal truth, I once weighed almost 300 lbs. at one point in time. I had to be honest with myself and what I was doing. It sucked because it isn't fun when you go to the gym and exercise and look in the mirror, and your belly is going in every direction. But it's necessary to know where I was going and enjoy the journey to be the best me and truly live my truth. I love to get a good sweat; I'm not too fond of the feeling of being sluggish after eating. And you will do the same when you face yourself and indeed be ok, but not stagnant.

Self-Awareness is so refreshing when you start to dig into yourself. If you are ready to build your self-awareness today, do me a favor, my friend. Follow this simple two-step process. Number 1 change your routine to uncover your truth. Number 2, be ok facing yourself and grow from it. When you build your self-awareness, you contribute not only to the world by being your best but the most important person of your story, and that's you. So keep on evolving and transforming!!!
